Galician Audio Evaluator | $50/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking a skilled Galician Audio Generalist Evaluator to support a high-impact AI audio research project with a leading research lab. In this part-time, flexible role, you will transcribe, annotate, and evaluate audio content in Galician to help train and benchmark advanced language models. Ideal for fluent Galician speakers with strong analytical skills and an interest in AI research.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe & Optimize Audio/Video: Listen to, analyze, and transcribe Galician audio and video content with precision, capturing tone, intent, register, and regional variations.
• Define Evaluation Standards: Develop detailed rubrics and grading guidelines in Galician and English, documenting standards to ensure consistency across reviewers and model evaluations.
• Conduct Model Testing & Grading: Run prompts through language models, assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, and completeness, and provide structured feedback to improve Galician audio task performance.
• Support Benchmarking & QA: Participate in quality assurance cycles, maintain dataset reliability, and collaborate with project leads to refine task design.

Minimum Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Galician (spoken and written) and professional fluency in English.
• Strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to accurately transcribe and analyze Galician audio across general consumer contexts.
• Self-directed with strong time management; available 10–20 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• College students or recent graduates welcome.
• Background in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, or technical fields.
• Prior experience with transcription, annotation, localization, or research workflows in Galician.
• Familiarity with dialectal variations and contemporary Galician usage.
• Interest in AI, language models, or applied research environments.
