General Accountant (AI Training Contributor) | $700/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to bring experienced accounting professionals on board as contributors for AI training and evaluation. This is a flexible, task-based opportunity where your real-world accounting expertise directly shapes how AI systems understand and reason through complex accounting work.

Key Responsibilities

• Design realistic accounting scenarios based on your professional experience — including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, journal entries, audit procedures, tax filings, month-end close, and internal controls
• Review and evaluate AI-generated accounting outputs for accuracy, GAAP/IFRS compliance, and sound professional judgment
• Create structured training examples that reflect authentic accounting reasoning and decision-making
• Provide clear, constructive written feedback to improve AI performance on accounting tasks
• Collaborate asynchronously with the research team on an ongoing basis

Ideal Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in accounting, audit, tax, bookkeeping, or finance operations (public, corporate, advisory, or firm-based)
• Active CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, EA, or equivalent professional credential (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proficiency with common accounting tools such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Excel
• Strong written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
