Generalist Accounting Expert | $80–150/hr | Worldwide Remote | ~10 hrs/week

Join AFTERQUERY in a flexible, part-time contractor role where your deep accounting expertise directly shapes how AI understands financial reporting. Working asynchronously, you'll produce high-quality schedules, statements, and summary memos that reflect real-world corporate accounting, audit, and reporting workflows.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and replicate financial statements, footnotes, and supporting workpapers using Excel and PowerPoint
• Model end-to-end accounting mechanics — from subledgers and journals through trial balances to financial statements
• Produce close, audit, and reporting deliverables consistent with U.S. GAAP standards
• Contribute to projects designed to improve AI reasoning around accounting and financial reporting

Required Qualifications

• Active CPA license (any U.S. state)
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP and standard close/audit/reporting workflows
• Proven experience preparing or reviewing financial statements, footnotes, and workpapers
• Advanced Excel skills with experience modeling full accounting cycles
• Proficiency with QuickBooks
• Genuine interest in advancing AI capabilities in accounting and financial reporting

Work Structure

• Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule
• Approximately 10 hours per week when active on a project
