Generalist Prompt Writer | $20–$40/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to onboard detail-oriented generalist contractors for a data annotation project. This is a flexible, part-time remote opportunity (~20 hrs/week) where your work directly shapes the accuracy and reliability of next-generation AI models.

Key Responsibilities

• Synthesize information from large volumes of diverse data
• Annotate and categorize text, images, and other data types according to detailed guidelines
• Apply predefined rubrics and taxonomies to produce structured, high-quality outputs
• Identify and flag inconsistencies, ambiguities, or errors within datasets
• Contribute meaningfully to the ongoing improvement of AI systems through consistent annotation work

Ideal Qualifications

• Strong ability to synthesize complex or high-volume information into structured formats
• Excellent critical reasoning, reading comprehension, and written communication skills
• Prior experience applying rubrics, taxonomies, or standardized guidelines (preferred but not required)
• A college degree and familiarity with data annotation projects
