Generalist Researcher at Mercor
posted 1 month agoGeneralist Researcher | $20–30/hr | Worldwide Remote
Join Mercor as a Generalist Researcher and play a key role in building high-quality answer keys for a multimodal search evaluation dataset. This is a precision-focused role where you'll define scoring standards — not score model outputs — by reviewing photos, screenshots, documents, and conversations to establish what a correct answer must contain.
What You'll Do
- Build answer keys for a multimodal search evaluation set
- Review photos, screenshots, documents, and conversations to define correct answer criteria
- Write scoring standards rather than evaluate model responses
- Identify exact names, titles, models, venues, products, and public figures
- Transcribe facts, labels, and values precisely from source materials
- Read full conversations before writing ground truth for the final turn
- Include only what the evidence directly supports
- Flag unclear or ambiguous cases rather than guessing
- Never identify private individuals or infer sensitive attributes
You're a Great Fit If You
- Are highly precise with names, numbers, and formal terminology
- Can research unfamiliar subjects and identify their correct formal names
- Follow written specifications exactly and consistently
- Have experience in annotation, ground truth creation, search relevance, cataloguing, or fact-checking
This is a contractor role with flexible, hourly engagement — ideal for detail-oriented researchers who thrive on accuracy and structured guidelines.
