Mercor is seeking experienced geology professionals to evaluate AI-generated research reports in partnership with a leading AI research lab. This critical role focuses on assessing the accuracy and quality of geological content to improve AI model performance.

About the Role

As a Geology Expert evaluator, you'll review agent-generated research reports covering Earth materials, geological processes, and geoscience topics. Your expertise will help ensure these reports meet rigorous scientific and industry standards.

Who We're Looking For

• Specialists with expertise in structural geology, petrology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, or mineralogy
• Professionals familiar with geological mapping, field methods, and interpretation of geological datasets
• Experience reviewing technical geological reports, academic research, or applied industry studies
• Academic or professional background in Geology or closely related Earth science fields

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the scientific accuracy, depth, and relevance of AI-generated research reports in the geology domain
• Assess reports covering Earth materials, geological history, processes, and subsurface interpretation
• Provide structured feedback using a provided rubric with clear written justifications
• Ensure all reports meet scientific and industry standards for clarity, correctness, and methodological soundness

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to assess geological interpretations, data quality, and research methodology
• Excellent written communication skills to deliver clear, constructive, and actionable feedback
• Comfortable working independently in an asynchronous, research-focused environment

Position Details

• Schedule: Part-time, 20–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling
• Compensation: $40–$50/hour, based on expertise
• Location: Fully remote, work from anywhere
