Geophysics Expert | $40–50/hr | Remote Worldwide

Mercor is seeking experienced geophysics evaluators to support an important evaluation workflow in partnership with a leading AI research lab. This project focuses on improving AI model performance by evaluating agent-generated research reports related to Solid Earth Geophysics, Earth's internal structure, and geophysical processes.

Who We're Hiring

We are looking for evaluators with experience or a strong background in Solid Earth Geophysics, Geology, Seismology, Tectonics, or related Earth science disciplines. This workflow is ideal for individuals who are:

• Specialists with expertise in seismology, tectonics, geodynamics, or lithosphere–mantle processes
• Familiar with geophysical techniques such as seismic analysis, gravity and magnetic methods, or electromagnetic surveying
• Experienced in interpreting geophysical datasets, numerical models, and technical research reports

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the scientific accuracy, depth, and relevance of agent-generated research reports in the Solid Earth Geophysics domain
• Assess reports related to Earth structure, plate tectonics, seismic hazards, and subsurface processes
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while maintaining rigorous quality standards
• Ensure all reports meet scientific and industry standards for correctness, clarity, and methodological soundness

You're a Strong Fit If You Have:

• Academic or professional experience in Solid Earth Geophysics or closely related fields
• Strong analytical skills to assess geophysical methods, interpretations, and research quality
• Excellent written communication skills to deliver clear, constructive, and actionable feedback
• Comfort working independently in an asynchronous, research-focused environment
