GIS & Geospatial Expert | $80–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

MICRO1 is seeking a skilled GIS & Geospatial Expert to join a dynamic applied engineering team. This is a contractor role ideal for a generalist with deep expertise in spatial analytics, remote sensing, and modern AI-assisted development workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement geospatial solutions using GIS platforms and remote sensing technologies
• Perform spatial data analysis to support engineering and research initiatives
• Leverage AI coding agents (such as Codex, Claude Code, and related tools) to accelerate development workflows
• Write clean, maintainable Python scripts for geospatial data processing and automation
• Produce clear technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to translate geospatial insights into actionable outcomes

Required Skills

• GIS & Remote Sensing: Proficient with industry-standard GIS tools and satellite/aerial data interpretation
• Spatial Analytics: Strong ability to model, query, and visualize spatial datasets
• Python: Experienced in geospatial libraries (e.g., GeoPandas, Shapely, Rasterio)
• AI Coding Agents: Hands-on experience with Codex, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted development tools
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking with a solutions-oriented mindset

This is a fully remote contractor engagement open to candidates worldwide. Compensation ranges from $80 to $100 per hour based on experience.
