Information Specialist – AI Trainer | $10–30/hr | Remote (US)

Join a freelance AI benchmark evaluation project as an Information Specialist, contributing your expertise in information science, data governance, or library science to help train and refine next-generation AI models. This is a fully remote, independent contractor engagement where you'll autonomously design evaluation tasks, craft expert prompts, and develop scoring rubrics that generate high-quality AI training data.

Project Deliverables

• Task & Prompt Creation: Design realistic, professional-grade prompts that challenge AI models to produce complex deliverables in information science, data management, and knowledge organization.
• Rubric Development: Develop clear, objective evaluation rubrics with specific, non-ambiguous scoring criteria for consistent and reliable assessment.
• Benchmark Data Generation: Produce clean, structured training data that supports the evaluation and refinement of AI models handling information architecture and retrieval tasks.
• Quality Assurance & Fact-Checking: Validate all tasks and scoring criteria against real-world data governance standards, research methodologies, and information management best practices.

Required Expertise

• Demonstrated professional experience in information science, library science, data governance, or knowledge management.
• Deep familiarity with industry standards, metadata schemas, and search methodologies.
• Strong writing and prompt engineering skills, with the ability to construct complex, realistic AI evaluation scenarios.
• Proficiency in developing objective, unambiguous rubrics for structured scoring.
• Meticulous attention to detail in fact-checking data architectures, knowledge bases, and search systems.
