K-12 Education Expert at Mercor

K-12 Education Expert | $35–55/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to bring experienced K-12 educators, administrators, and specialists on board to improve AI systems' understanding of classroom instruction, school operations, and student development. This is a flexible, project-based contractor role with potential for ongoing engagement based on performance and project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate AI-generated outputs related to lesson planning, student assessment, classroom management, and instructional design
• Create realistic K-12 workflow scenarios — including IEP development, parent-teacher communication, curriculum alignment to standards, and behavior intervention planning
• Annotate, label, and validate data across K-12 use cases such as differentiated instruction, grade-level appropriateness, and formative assessment
• Provide structured feedback on AI accuracy in pedagogical best practices, state/federal education regulations (IDEA, Title I, ESSA), and age-appropriate content
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks for K-12 education AI

Ideal Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in K-12 education (public, private, or charter)
• Background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Classroom teaching (any subject or grade level)
  • Special education or student support services
  • School administration (principal, assistant principal, department head)
  • District-level roles (curriculum director, superintendent's office, HR)
  • Instructional coaching, professional development, or EdTech integration
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate classroom and school-level workflows into structured evaluation tasks
• Clear written communication skills and strong attention to detail

Compensation Note

This role begins on an effective hourly rate and will transition to a throughput-based compensation model, rewarding the quality and volume of completed work.
