Māori Language AI Trainer | $6–65/hr | Worldwide Remote | Freelance Contractor

We are seeking a skilled Language Alignment & Resource Partner (LARP) with native-level Māori proficiency to support a specialized AI data quality project. In this role, you will provide critical linguistic and cultural consultation to ensure AI-generated outputs are natural, accurate, and culturally authentic.

Project Deliverables

  • Data Annotation & Review: Evaluate and annotate AI outputs for grammatical accuracy, natural fluency, and cultural appropriateness in Māori.
  • Quality Assurance: Serve as a primary quality checkpoint during production, identifying and correcting subtle cultural errors or unnatural phrasing.
  • Resource Development: Analyze quality trends and create structured educational resources and feedback documentation to improve AI alignment.
  • Linguistic Consultation: Provide native-level vetting and specialized language support throughout the project's production and scaling phases.

Required Expertise

  • Background in linguistics, education, or a field requiring high attention to linguistic detail.
  • Prior hands-on experience in human data evaluation or annotation.
  • Verified Māori language proficiency at C1 or C2 level.
  • Ability to transform raw feedback and quality trends into clear, actionable educational resources.
  • A meticulous eye for subtle unnatural phrasing and cultural nuance in Māori.

  • Pay Range: $6–$65/hr, based on experience, expertise, and location
  • Note: Contractors must supply their own computer and high-speed internet. Benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.
