Language Expert (PhD) - AI Project at Mercor

Language Expert | $80/hr | Worldwide Remote

Join a leading AI lab as a Language Expert, leveraging your linguistic expertise and cultural knowledge to contribute to an impactful short-term project. This fully remote, flexible contractor role is ideal for native speakers with a doctorate and a passion for language accuracy.

• Responsibilities:
  • Create and complete language tasks with a focus on fluency, grammar, and cultural sensitivity
  • Draft tasks, provide answer keys and rationales
  • Ensure contextual and cultural accuracy in all deliverables
• Requirements:
  • Native speaker with deep understanding of cultural norms
  • Doctorate degree strongly preferred
  • Experience in language teaching, assessment, or exam design is a plus
  • Ability to distinguish subtle differences in tone and register
• Role Details:
  • 15–40 hours/week, fully asynchronous
  • Project duration: 3–4 weeks
  • Weekly payment via Stripe Connect
  • At-will contractor status
  • Not eligible for H1-B or STEM OPT status
