Language Expert (PhD) - AI Project at Mercor

Join a leading AI lab as a Language Expert, leveraging your linguistic expertise and cultural knowledge to contribute to an impactful short-term project. This fully remote, flexible contractor role is ideal for native speakers with a doctorate and a passion for language accuracy.
- Responsibilities:
- Create and complete language tasks with a focus on fluency, grammar, and cultural sensitivity
- Draft tasks, provide answer keys and rationales
- Ensure contextual and cultural accuracy in all deliverables
- Requirements:
- Native speaker with deep understanding of cultural norms
- Doctorate degree strongly preferred
- Experience in language teaching, assessment, or exam design is a plus
- Ability to distinguish subtle differences in tone and register
- Role Details:
- 15–40 hours/week, fully asynchronous
- Project duration: 3–4 weeks
- Weekly payment via Stripe Connect
- At-will contractor status
- Not eligible for H1-B or STEM OPT status
- Languages Needed: Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese
