Language Music Expert at Mercor

Language Music Expert | $50–70/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is hiring skilled music professionals on behalf of a cutting-edge generative music AI lab. This is a part-time pilot engagement (2–5 hrs/week) with strong potential to expand into a larger, ongoing role. High performers will be prioritized for future phases.

Languages Sought

We are specifically seeking experts fluent in one or more of the following languages:

• Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Romanian, Swedish
• Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Telugu, Croatian, Finnish
• Haitian Creole, Slovak, Gujarati, Kazakh, Kyrgyz
• Manipuri/Meitei, Oromo, Pashto, Shona

What You'll Do

• Transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythm
• Identify key, tempo, and time signature from audio
• Handle sung lyrics in your target language, including accents and less-clear vocal delivery
• Support the development and evaluation of generative music AI systems

Qualifications

• Formal musical training or professional experience — a degree in music, or several years working as a musician, composer, transcriber, audio engineer, or music teacher
• Strong ear training skills; ability to transcribe melodies accurately
• Strong fluency in at least one of the listed languages, including comfort with sung and accented speech
