Language Music Expert at Mercor

Mercor is hiring skilled music professionals on behalf of a cutting-edge generative music AI lab. This is a part-time pilot engagement (2–5 hrs/week) with strong potential to expand into a larger, ongoing role. High performers will be prioritized for future phases.
Languages Sought
We are specifically seeking experts fluent in one or more of the following languages:
- Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Romanian, Swedish
- Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Telugu, Croatian, Finnish
- Haitian Creole, Slovak, Gujarati, Kazakh, Kyrgyz
- Manipuri/Meitei, Oromo, Pashto, Shona
What You'll Do
- Transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythm
- Identify key, tempo, and time signature from audio
- Handle sung lyrics in your target language, including accents and less-clear vocal delivery
- Support the development and evaluation of generative music AI systems
Qualifications
- Formal musical training or professional experience — a degree in music, or several years working as a musician, composer, transcriber, audio engineer, or music teacher
- Strong ear training skills; ability to transcribe melodies accurately
- Strong fluency in at least one of the listed languages, including comfort with sung and accented speech
