Mercor is seeking experienced, practicing lawyers to participate in a paid occupational research study. This is a brief, one-time engagement designed to improve how the legal profession is described in O*NET — the U.S. government's official occupational framework. Your real-world expertise will directly shape a more accurate representation of legal work nationwide.

About the Study

Mercor is building a more accurate, practitioner-informed version of O*NET (SOC 23-1011.00 — Lawyers). Rather than relying solely on government data, we're gathering direct input from experienced legal professionals to better capture the day-to-day realities of practicing law.

What You'll Do

• Complete a one-time online survey or interview about your daily work as a lawyer — takes up to 30 minutes.
• An optional follow-up survey, task, or short interview may be offered afterward and would be compensated separately.

Who We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience practicing law.
• Currently working as a lawyer, or have done so within the last 12 months.
• Direct, hands-on knowledge of legal research, document drafting, and case work.
• U.S.-based applicants only.

Not Eligible

• Paralegals and legal assistants (SOC 23-2011.00)
• Judicial law clerks (SOC 23-1012.00)
• Judges, magistrates, arbitrators, mediators, or conciliators (SOC 23-1022.00 / 23-1023.00)
