Legal Writing Expert | Varies | Remote (US) | Contractor, up to 5 weeks, 40 hrs/week

About the Role

Turing, an AI company that works with leading AI labs, is looking for experienced Legal professionals to contribute to realistic professional-writing and legal-domain use cases. This short-term contract involves creating and evaluating legal content across business, academic, technical, and career-related contexts, with a focus on U.S. legal practices.

What You'll Do

• Create and evaluate realistic professional-writing and legal-domain scenarios
• Develop business, technical, academic, and career-related legal content
• Apply appropriate legal terminology, tone, structure, and formatting for different audiences
• Incorporate relevant U.S. laws, regulations, legal standards, and jurisdictional considerations
• Review content for legal accuracy, clarity, consistency, and completeness
• Identify inaccuracies, unsupported legal claims, ambiguities, compliance risks, and jurisdictional issues
• Provide expert feedback and collaborate with project teams to refine legal content

Required Qualifications

• 8–10 years of professional legal experience preferred
• Strong expertise in one or more legal practice areas (e.g., corporate/commercial, banking & securities, litigation, criminal/compliance, employment/immigration, IP/technology/data, real estate/environmental, healthcare, family/estates, or public/international law)
• Strong understanding of U.S. legal practices, regulations, and industry expectations
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
• Experience creating, reviewing, analyzing, or managing professional legal content
• Strong legal research, analytical, and issue-spotting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent legal qualification; active or previous U.S. state bar admission preferred
• Experience in U.S.-focused legal roles, law firms, corporate legal departments, government, academia, or regulated industries
• Experience with legal research databases, contract lifecycle management tools, e-discovery platforms, or legal technology
• Experience developing legal memoranda, contracts, case summaries, compliance documents, policies, or legal guides

Schedule and Engagement

• Contractor engagement, up to 5 weeks
• 40 hours per week, with 8 hours of overlap with PST
• Selection may be based on your specific legal specialization and relevant U.S. domain expertise
