Life/Health Actuarial Data Specialist at Mercor

Life/Health Actuarial Data Specialist | $75–100/hr | Remote Worldwide

Mercor is partnering with a global insurance and financial services leader to support critical actuarial modeling through expert data preparation. We're seeking experienced actuarial professionals to lead seriatim data extraction, cleansing, and validation from life insurance policy administration systems. This short-term, project-based role (approximately 6 weeks) offers high autonomy with clearly defined deliverables focused on producing audit-ready datasets for valuation and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract policy-level data for valuation dates from systems including FAST, OIPA, or Sapiens
• Validate record counts against control totals and identify missing or inconsistent data fields
• Reconcile in-force movements between periods, tracking new issues and terminations
• Identify and flag policies with anomalous data requiring manual review
• Map product codes to actuarial model inputs and document all data assumptions
• Deliver clean, formatted datasets ready for actuarial projection software

Ideal Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in actuarial data processing or valuation support
• Hands-on familiarity with life insurance policy administration systems (OIPA, FAST, LIFE/400)
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and data quality tools; SQL or Python scripting is a plus
• Exceptional attention to detail with deep understanding of actuarial data structures
• Strong documentation skills for data anomalies and reconciliation logic
