Litigation Expert | $90–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced senior litigation professionals to design and build evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in civil litigation and dispute resolution contexts. This is a high-impact contract role ideal for seasoned litigators who want to shape how AI understands complex legal practice.

About the Role

Contributors will work across two tracks: a US track (Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Evidence, and state court analogs) and an International track (English Civil Procedure Rules, ICC/LCIA arbitration rules). Experts qualified in either or both tracks are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design litigation scenarios spanning pre-trial discovery, motion practice, trial strategy, and settlement or arbitration processes.
  • Build tasks across commercial litigation, class action litigation, discovery and evidence management, trial advocacy, and appellate practice.
  • Develop scenarios involving e-discovery platforms (Relativity, Everlaw), litigation management software, and deposition/trial preparation tools.
  • Apply litigation methodologies — including case strategy development, discovery analysis, and motion drafting — aligned to the relevant procedural track (FRCP, Federal Rules of Evidence, CPR, or international arbitration rules).
  • Produce reference pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and trial memoranda as benchmark outputs.
  • Author rubrics that distinguish authentic senior litigation judgment from generic legal recall.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a litigator or trial attorney at a major litigation firm (e.g., Quinn Emanuel, Gibson Dunn, Kirkland & Ellis, Boies Schiller Flexner) or in a corporate litigation department.
  • Direct ownership of complex commercial litigation matters, with trial or arbitration experience.
  • Strong fluency in litigation tooling, court procedure, discovery, and evidentiary rules.
  • JD with active bar admission strongly preferred; international equivalents (Barrister, Solicitor with advocacy rights) welcome.
  • Prior experience in rubric writing or AI training content authorship is a plus.

How to apply for this role
  • Upload your resume — keep it up-to-date and in English. Mercor will auto-fill your profile from it.
  • Complete the AI interview — a 15-minute conversation about your experience. Be ready to discuss specific projects and challenges you've solved.
  • Submit your application — only about 20% of applicants finish all the steps, so completing yours puts you well ahead.
