Management Consulting Expert at Mercor

Management Consulting Expert | $80–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to engage experienced management consultants in improving AI reasoning around business strategy, organizational design, and executive decision-making. This is a flexible, project-based contractor role with potential for ongoing engagement based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate AI-generated outputs related to strategic frameworks, market sizing, competitive analysis, operational diagnostics, and executive recommendations
• Create realistic consulting scenarios — including case interviews, client workshops, hypothesis-driven analyses, workstream planning, and steering committee presentations
• Annotate, label, and validate data across management consulting use cases such as market entry, cost transformation, post-merger integration, and org redesign
• Provide structured feedback on AI accuracy in strategy frameworks (Porter's, MECE structuring, issue trees), financial analysis, and executive communication standards
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks for business strategy AI

Ideal Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience at a management consulting firm (MBB, Big 4 advisory, Tier 2, or boutique strategy firm)
• Background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Corporate strategy and growth advisory
  • Operations and supply chain consulting
  • Organizational design and change management
  • M&A due diligence and post-merger integration
  • Public sector and social impact consulting
• MBA or advanced degree is a plus
• Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and ability to translate consulting workflows into evaluation tasks
• Clear written communication and strong attention to detail

Compensation Note

This project begins on an effective hourly rate of $80–$100/hr, with a planned transition to a throughput-based compensation model rewarding quality and volume of work completed.
