Manufacturing & Consumer Goods Expert | $45–65/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs on Project Atlas — an initiative to build realistic enterprise environments where frontier AI agents are trained and evaluated. We're seeking seasoned manufacturing and consumer goods professionals from Fortune 500 companies or comparable large organizations to help recreate the digital workspaces they use daily and design tasks that genuinely challenge state-of-the-art AI systems.

What You'll Do

• Build a high-fidelity digital workspace modeled on your real day-to-day tools — including production reports, brand P&L models, S&OP decks, supplier scorecards, BOMs, SOPs, and email threads — with representation of enterprise apps such as SAP S/4HANA, Siemens Opcenter, and Power BI
• Design multi-step tasks grounded in your actual workflows that require navigating multiple apps, files, and stakeholders in ways that meaningfully challenge frontier AI agents
• Collaborate with other manufacturing and CPG experts to shape task scope, review scenarios for realism, and ensure rigorous benchmarking standards
• Work asynchronously with research teams to refine task designs and evaluation criteria for manufacturing-domain agent benchmarks
• Contribute directly to frontier AI research — your work informs how leading labs train and evaluate the next generation of AI systems

Ideal Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-time experience at a Fortune 500 or comparable large enterprise (e.g., P&G, Unilever, PepsiCo, Nestlé, 3M, Kimberly-Clark, or a Tier-1 contract manufacturer)
• Background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Plant operations, production management, or operations engineering
  • Quality assurance, regulatory compliance (FDA/USDA), or EHS
  • Supply chain planning, S&OP, or procurement/sourcing
  • R&D, product development, or packaging engineering
  • Brand or category management with P&L ownership
• Hands-on experience with enterprise tools such as SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Tableau, or Power BI
• Certifications are a plus: PMP, Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, CPIM, or CSCP
• Strong analytical thinking and writing skills — able to translate complex enterprise workflows into structured task specifications

Compensation

This role begins at an effective hourly rate of $45–$65/hr and is expected to transition to a throughput-based model where experts are compensated based on the quality and volume of work produced.
