Manufacturing Operations Reviewer | $55–65/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced manufacturing professionals to audit AI-generated work product in their own field. This is not a production role — you bring your real-world expertise to evaluate whether an AI agent's output meets professional standards that only a seasoned practitioner would recognize.

What You'll Do

You'll review an AI agent's complete attempt at a realistic manufacturing task — including the original task description, the agent's actions, files produced, and an AI grader's scoresheet. For each item (approximately one hour of work), you'll answer four key questions:

  • Task Realism: Is this a task that would genuinely arise in this role, described accurately?
  • Domain Accuracy: Are the standards, figures, regulations, and constraints correct — or is something subtly off that only a practitioner would catch?
  • Grading Validity: Does the AI grader's yes/no assessment of the finished work hold up when you review it with the files open?
  • Score Defensibility: Band the work yourself — could a practitioner use or accept it? Does the reported score align with your assessment?

Open Roles

Apply to the role that genuinely reflects your background:

  • Buyers & Purchasing Agents — 5+ years placing POs and negotiating with accountable suppliers
  • First-Line Supervisors of Production & Operating Workers — 5+ years owning a shift or production line, schedule, and personnel
  • Mechanical Engineers — 4+ years designing parts or systems that were built; PE a plus
  • Industrial Engineers — 3+ years in capacity, throughput, layout, or time studies that drove real plant changes
  • Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Clerks — 4+ years owning receiving, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy in a warehouse or plant setting

Ideal Candidate

You know your field cold. You've conducted root-cause investigations, run a PPAP or first-article inspection, owned a cycle-count variance, or corrected a method sheet on the floor. You write clearly in business English and are comfortable reconciling numbers in a spreadsheet or PDF.

Less of a fit: Professionals whose experience is entirely in planning software rather than on the floor, or engineers who have only run simulations.

Requirements

  • Near-native business English proficiency (written judgment is required for every decision)
  • Comfort reviewing spreadsheets and PDFs for numerical accuracy
  • Genuine hands-on experience in one of the five roles listed above

How to apply for this role
  • Upload your resume — keep it up-to-date and in English. Mercor will auto-fill your profile from it.
  • Complete the AI interview — a 15-minute conversation about your experience. Be ready to discuss specific projects and challenges you've solved.
  • Submit your application — only about 20% of applicants finish all the steps, so completing yours puts you well ahead.
