Mercor is seeking experienced marine science professionals to evaluate AI-generated research reports in partnership with a leading AI research lab. This role focuses on improving model performance by assessing agent-generated content related to marine science, ocean systems, and coastal processes.

Who We're Hiring

We are looking for evaluators with experience or a strong background in Marine Science, Oceanography, Coastal Science, Marine Biology, or related Earth and environmental science disciplines. This workflow is ideal for individuals who are:

• Specialists with expertise in physical, chemical, or biological oceanography, or coastal and marine systems
• Familiar with ocean observations, marine datasets, remote sensing, and ocean modelling techniques
• Experienced in interpreting marine research reports, datasets, and scientific analyses related to ocean dynamics and ecosystems

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the scientific accuracy, relevance, and clarity of agent-generated research reports in the Marine Science domain
• Assess reports covering ocean circulation, marine ecosystems, climate–ocean interactions, and coastal processes
• Provide structured feedback using a provided rubric, along with clear written justifications
• Ensure all reports meet scientific and industry standards for accuracy, coherence, and methodological soundness

You're a Strong Fit If You Have:

• Academic or professional experience in Marine Science or closely related disciplines
• Strong analytical skills to assess marine data, research methodologies, and scientific interpretations
• Excellent written communication skills to deliver clear, constructive, and actionable feedback
• Comfort working independently in an asynchronous, research-focused environment

Role Details
