Mathematics Expert (Masters/PhD) at Mercor

Mathematics Expert | $70–80/hr | Remote (US, UK, Canada, Australia, NZ)

Mercor is seeking Mathematics Masters and PhD holders for a premier project with one of the world's top AI labs. Contribute your expertise to cutting-edge frontier large language models by crafting high-quality, challenging problems with real-world applicability.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Mathematics from a top US university
• Experience coding in Python or MATLAB for projects or research
• Field-specific experience in Numerical Linear Algebra, Computational Mechanics, or Computational Finance
• High attention to detail and exceptional written/verbal communication skills
• Excellent proficiency in English
• Currently based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia

Key Responsibilities:

• Work asynchronously with highly qualified domain experts
• Craft, solve, and review challenging problems with real-world applicability
• 15-20 hours per week with potential for increased hours and extension
• Fully remote and asynchronous work

Role Details:

• Start Date: Late December (applications reviewed on a rolling basis)
• Interview Process: Short domain expertise assessment
• Compensation: Paid weekly via Stripe Connect as an hourly contractor
• Onboarding: Paid for up to 1 hour including screening and onboarding videos
