MDM Lead Engineer (Semarchy xDM) at Turing

MDM Lead Engineer | Full-Time | Hybrid, New York, NY (3 days onsite per week)

A senior, hands-on MDM Lead Engineer to own the Master Data Management platform for a Client Master Data team, driving initiatives from requirements and data analysis through design, implementation, production support, and continuous improvement. The role requires 10+ years of experience and strong hands-on Semarchy xDM expertise.

What the work involves

• Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise MDM solutions using Semarchy xDM, owning initiatives end to end.
• Define and implement match and merge rules, survivorship logic, golden records, hierarchies, workflows, stewardship processes, and data-quality controls.
• Perform data profiling, anomaly investigation, root-cause analysis, and data-quality assessments using SQL and other analytical tools.
• Design and support production-grade data pipelines and integrations between MDM platforms, cloud data warehouses, operational systems, APIs, and analytical platforms.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to onshore and offshore engineering teams, reviewing designs, data models, SQL, pipelines, and code.
• Partner with Product Owners, Data Stewards, business stakeholders, architects, and senior technology leaders.
• Support data governance, metadata, lineage, and stewardship initiatives, and apply modern engineering and AI-native approaches to data quality and automation.

Who it's for

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, MDM, software engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Semarchy xDM and proven end-to-end implementation of enterprise MDM solutions.
• Strong understanding of match and merge, survivorship, golden records, hierarchies, data quality, data stewardship, workflows, and data publishing/integration patterns.
• Strong SQL, data profiling, data analysis, and root-cause analysis skills; experience with data modeling, data governance, metadata, and lineage.
• Experience with modern data technologies such as Snowflake, Azure, ADF, dbt, Fivetran, Python, or APIs.
• Experience leading or guiding onshore and offshore engineering teams, with strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in the New York office three days per week.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in Financial Services, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets.
• Experience with Client, Customer, Organization, Contact, Account, or Party master data domains.
• Salesforce integration experience; experience modernizing or re-architecting an existing MDM implementation.
• Experience applying AI or automation to data quality, data engineering, or MDM processes.

Not suitable for this role

This is a hands-on technical role. Profiles that are primarily project/program managers, data governance professionals without engineering depth, Semarchy administrators without design and implementation experience, architects no longer hands-on, pure data engineers with little MDM experience, or candidates without meaningful Semarchy xDM experience (e.g. mainly Informatica or Reltio) will not be considered.
