About the Role
micro1 is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for remote contract work focused on CAD design and manufacturing. This is an expert-level contractor role.
What the Work Involves
- Creating mechanical designs using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, NX and FreeCAD
- Applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and interpreting engineering drawings
- Following drafting standards and producing technical documentation
- Applying design for manufacturing (DFM) principles and knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Selecting appropriate materials for designs
Who Should Apply
- Expert-level mechanical design experience with CAD software
- Strong understanding of GD&T, drafting standards and engineering drawing interpretation
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, DFM and material selection
- Ability to work remotely with precision and accuracy, including strong written and verbal communication
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback and critique, and solving problems as they arise
Pay and Commitment
$40-80/hr, contract basis.
Location
Fully remote.
