Mechanical Engineer | $70–110/hr | Worldwide Remote | 4–6 Week Contract

Mercor is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. You'll apply your real-world engineering expertise to assess AI-generated mechanical content, helping shape the accuracy and reliability of next-generation AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated mechanical designs, technical drawings, and system specifications for quality and accuracy.
  • Perform head-to-head comparisons of AI-generated responses based on engineering rigor, design soundness, and specification precision.
  • Review mechanical engineering scenarios involving equipment design, system troubleshooting, and specification compliance, providing expert feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Project Engineer, Test Engineer, or a closely related role.
  • Hands-on experience designing, evaluating, or maintaining mechanical products, equipment, or systems, including interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Availability to commit 20+ hours per week.
  • Strong written English communication skills.

Project Details

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks
  • Payment: Task-based initially; experts who complete their first task within the required timeline qualify for hourly pay for the remainder of the project.
