Mechanical Engineer - AI Training | $110–125/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced mechanical engineers to support a leading AI lab in advancing research and infrastructure for next-generation machine learning systems. This unique engagement focuses on creating realistic manufacturing scenarios and validating AI responses to improve cutting-edge AI training systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write tasks and scenarios that reflect real-world mechanical engineering work in manufacturing based on your professional experience
• Create realistic situations involving product design, prototyping, testing, and production optimization
• Develop scenarios for troubleshooting equipment, analyzing mechanical systems, and implementing design improvements
• Review and evaluate AI responses to mechanical engineering queries for accuracy and technical precision
• Provide detailed feedback on manufacturing engineering scenarios to improve AI training

Ideal Qualifications:

• 4+ years professional experience in a mechanical engineering role in manufacturing
• Demonstrated professional recognition and management responsibilities
• Proficient with using computers and navigating various software systems
• Excellent written communication with strong grammar and spelling skills
• Pass video interview, background check, training, and qualification quiz

Engagement Details:

• Fully remote and asynchronous — complete work on your own schedule
• Expected workload: 20+ hours per week, with flexibility to scale up to 40 hours
• Project duration: approximately 6 weeks, starting immediately
• Independent contractor engagement through Mercor
• Hourly compensation, paid weekly via Stripe Connect
