We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Medical Coder to join our healthcare team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a coding specialist with deep expertise in medical terminology, coding systems, and compliance standards who thrives in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assign ICD-10 and CPT codes to medical records, diagnoses, and procedures
- Review and code Evaluation & Management (E&M) services with precision
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, coding standards, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation gaps
- Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to optimize coding accuracy and reimbursement
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Medical Coding, including ICD-10 and CPT code sets
- Active CPC Certification (Certified Professional Coder) required
- Strong knowledge of Evaluation & Management coding guidelines
- Experience working within the medical or healthcare domain
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting
