Medical Coder Expert | $65–$95/hr | Worldwide Remote | Async Contract

AFTERQUERY is seeking certified medical coders to help build the coding and documentation scenarios that frontier AI labs use to evaluate and test model judgment. This is a fully remote, asynchronous contract role with weekly pay — ideal for experienced coders looking for flexible, high-impact work.

What You'll Do

• Develop realistic medical coding and clinical documentation scenarios for AI model evaluation
• Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding logic to complex, real-world chart situations
• Write clear, well-reasoned explanations of code selection and guideline application
• Contribute to the quality and accuracy of AI training and testing datasets in the healthcare domain

Requirements

• Active CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) certification in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of production medical coding experience
• Strong working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS with hands-on chart experience
• Excellent written English skills — able to clearly explain coding rationale and guideline logic
• Availability to commit at least 10 hours per week

Compensation & Details

• Rate: $65–$95/hr depending on experience
• Schedule: Fully async, flexible hours
• Payment: Weekly
• Location: 100% remote, open worldwide
