What You'll Do

  • Label emotional tone, mood indicators, stress markers, and wellbeing-related themes in conversational or written data.
  • Apply validated clinical frameworks (e.g., PHQ-9-style constructs, sentiment/affect taxonomies) per project guidelines.
  • Identify sensitive content requiring escalation — including crisis language and self-harm indicators — following established safety protocols.
  • Ensure annotations reflect nuance, context, and cultural sensitivity around mental health topics.
  • Contribute to refining annotation guidelines for ambiguous or borderline cases.
  • Handle all sensitive content with strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Background in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Strong understanding of mental health terminology and common wellbeing frameworks.
  • Emotional resilience and sound judgment when reviewing sensitive material.
  • Ability to follow strict confidentiality and safety escalation protocols.
  • Access to a MacBook is ideal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical or counseling experience.
  • Prior experience with content moderation or mental health data annotation.
  • Training in trauma-informed approaches to reviewing sensitive content.

Engagement Details

  • Type: Contractor / Freelancer (no medical or paid leave benefits)
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Work Environment: Fully remote and flexible

Why Work with Turing?

  • Contribute to cutting-edge AI development in a meaningful domain.
  • Gain exposure to advanced LLMs and insight into how they are trained.
