About the role

Turing is seeking a Senior AI Systems Engineer with deep expertise in multi-step agentic architecture to support an exploratory mathematics research initiative. You will bridge pure mathematics and technical execution, designing and deploying AI agents that reason through advanced scientific and mathematical workflows.

The wider project builds LLM evaluation and training datasets that teach models to handle realistic software engineering problems, including verifiable software engineering tasks derived from public repository histories via a synthetic, human-in-the-loop approach, expanding coverage across programming languages and difficulty levels.

What you'll do

• Design, build and optimize multi-step agentic workflows capable of multi-hop reasoning, hypothesis generation and technical validation.
• Collaborate with mathematical researchers to translate abstract proofs into structured technical specifications and automated pipelines.
• Develop reusable architectural frameworks, tooling and memory systems for STEM-focused AI agents.
• Evaluate and iterate on agent performance, ensuring high accuracy, reliability and traceable logic across execution steps.

Requirements

• Technical expertise: proven track record architecting and deploying production-grade, multi-step agentic systems (e.g. LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI or custom orchestration).
• Domain experience: background building AI/ML applications in STEM domains such as mathematics, physics, computer science or quantitative finance.
• Core skills: advanced Python, LLM orchestration, structured output generation, tool integration and state management.
• Problem-solving: comfortable working with subject-matter experts to turn dense academic material into modular software systems.

Pay, schedule and contract

• Payment model: $30 per approved task.
• At least 4 hours per day and 40 hours per week, including 4 hours of overlap with PST.
• Contractor assignment (no medical or paid leave); 1-month contract.

Fully remote. Open to applicants based in India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey and Mexico.
