Multimodal Optics Expert | $40/hr | Worldwide Remote

We are looking for skilled optics and mathematics professionals to solve and evaluate multimodal reasoning tasks involving text, equations, diagrams, and images. This is an exciting opportunity to apply deep physics knowledge in a flexible, remote contractor role.

Responsibilities

• Solve optics and mathematical physics problems using both textual and visual information.
• Interpret ray diagrams, lens and mirror diagrams, interference patterns, diffraction setups, graphs, and equations.
• Apply core concepts including reflection, refraction, Snell's law, lens and mirror equations, magnification, interference, diffraction, and polarization.
• Clearly explain reasoning steps and verify final answers for accuracy.
• Identify and flag ambiguous or incomplete problem statements.

Qualifications

• Strong background in optics, physics, applied mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with geometric optics, wave optics, lenses, mirrors, diffraction, and optical instruments.
• Excellent written communication skills with a sharp attention to detail.
