Nephrology Physician | $140–200/hr | Part-Time in San Francisco

Mercor is seeking experienced Nephrologists to collaborate with a healthcare AI partner developing intelligent systems for kidney disease management, inpatient decision support, and longitudinal risk modeling. About the Role

Work in-person in San Francisco on a flexible, part-time schedule (up to 10 hours/week). You'll contribute to cutting-edge medical AI by annotating clinical data, validating outputs, and ensuring models align with nephrology best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Data Annotation: Review and annotate EHR notes, labs, dialysis records, and consult notes related to CKD, AKI, ESRD, and transplant care. Label diagnostic criteria, staging, interventions, and outcomes.
• Quality Review & Validation: Validate datasets for consistency with KDIGO and related guidelines. Review AI outputs for renal dosing, electrolyte management, and escalation logic.
• Knowledge Contribution: Define complex nephrology edge cases such as cardiorenal syndrome and atypical AKI. Support development of annotation frameworks for renal disease progression.
• Model Evaluation & Feedback: Evaluate AI-generated recommendations and summaries for clinical safety. Provide structured feedback to improve model reasoning.

Requirements

• MD or DO with Nephrology specialization
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Nephrology
• Active U.S. medical license in good standing
• 5+ years of post-fellowship clinical experience
• Strong inpatient and outpatient nephrology experience
• Familiarity with dialysis workflows and EHR systems
• Interest in medical AI preferred
