Turing is looking for experienced Nutrition & Dietary Habits Experts to help evaluate and improve AI-generated content related to nutrition, dietary habits, and healthy eating. This is a fully remote, 8-week contractor engagement supporting the development of responsible, accurate AI in the nutrition and wellness space.

Role Overview

In this role, you will assess AI-generated content for scientific accuracy, safety, and relevance — annotating and evaluating data related to food intake, dietary patterns, and nutritional information to support AI models focused on nutrition tracking, coaching, and research.

What You'll Do

  • Annotate food items, portion sizes, meal composition, and nutrient content from text, images, or logs.
  • Classify dietary patterns including macronutrient balance, meal timing, and dietary restrictions or preferences.
  • Verify nutritional data accuracy against trusted references such as food composition databases.
  • Identify and flag mislabeled, inconsistent, or culturally ambiguous food entries.
  • Apply and help refine annotation guidelines for diverse cuisines and dietary contexts.
  • Maintain consistency and quality benchmarks across large annotation batches.

Requirements

  • Background in nutrition, dietetics, food science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with food composition databases and dietary assessment methods.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with portion estimation and food categorization.
  • Comfort working with annotation tools, spreadsheets, or structured data formats.
  • Access to a MacBook is ideal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or equivalent credential.
  • Experience annotating multilingual or multicultural food data.
  • Prior experience in data labeling for ML/AI applications.

Engagement Details

  • Type: Contractor/Freelancer (no medical or paid leave benefits)
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Evaluation: Shortlisting based on qualifications, followed by one interview round.
