OSS Contributor (CTO/Founder Level) | $130–200/hr | Remote

Join Mercor as a high-impact OSS Contributor, collaborating with leading AI teams to advance model training and evaluation using real-world, production codebases. This role is ideal for current or former CTOs and founders with the authority to grant secure, purpose-limited access to their organization's private code.

• Authorize & Enable Access: Confirm your authority to provide a limited license for code evaluation and, if agreed, training. Coordinate secure, read-only repository access.
• Curate Datasets: Select and prepare representative modules, ensuring sensitive data is masked or excluded.
• Design Evaluations: Develop realistic task suites reflecting your stack, including refactors, bug fixes, and performance tasks.
• Develop Test Harnesses: Build or guide the creation of test cases and scoring systems aligned with real engineering constraints.
• Analyze Outcomes: Review AI model performance on your code, identify failure modes, and suggest improvements.
• Ensure Compliance & Security: Collaborate on data handling, audit logging, secret scanning, and access revocation to maintain the highest security standards.

Requirements:

• Current or former CTO/founder with authority over a substantial codebase.
• Ability to grant a time-limited, purpose-specific license for code use.
• Deep technical knowledge (Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar).
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
• Active OSS contributor preferred.

Role Details: Part-time, flexible, 100% remote. Engagement is hourly via Mercor with weekly payments through Stripe Connect. All work governed by MSA/SOW and strict data protection agreements.
