Patent Agent Expert | $90–$125/hr | Worldwide Remote | Async Contract

AFTERQUERY is seeking experienced, USPTO-registered patent agents to help build the next generation of AI evaluation tools. In this role, you will create claim drafting and patent prosecution scenarios used by frontier AI labs to assess and refine model judgment in complex legal and technical contexts.

This is a flexible, fully remote, asynchronous contract position with weekly pay — ideal for seasoned patent professionals looking to contribute to cutting-edge AI development on their own schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft realistic and nuanced patent claim scenarios for AI model evaluation
• Develop office action response examples and prior art analysis cases
• Document legal and technical reasoning clearly for use in AI training and testing pipelines
• Contribute at least 10 hours per week on an async basis

Required Qualifications

• Active USPTO registration as a patent agent or patent attorney
• 2+ years of hands-on patent prosecution experience
• Strong expertise in claim drafting, office action responses, and prior art analysis
• Excellent written English communication skills for articulating complex legal and technical reasoning
• Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week
