Personal Finance SME | Contractor | 40 hrs/week | Worldwide Remote

Turing is seeking a Personal Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help fine-tune large language models focused on consumer financial planning and household money management. This is a hands-on, practitioner-level role where your expertise will directly shape the quality and accuracy of AI-generated financial tools.

About Turing

Turing is one of the world's fastest-growing AI companies, accelerating the advancement and deployment of powerful AI systems. We partner with leading AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities and build real-world AI solutions for mission-critical business needs.

Role Overview

You will serve as the personal finance and coaching expert setting the quality benchmark for consumer-focused AI applications. This role focuses on personal wealth management as financial coaches and planners practice it — spanning zero-based budgeting, debt payoff strategies, sinking funds, and net-worth tracking — along with translating consumer finance principles into deterministic spreadsheet logic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Authoring Skills & Guardrails: Define discovery parameters (income cadence, budgeting approach, debt structures, savings goals) and financial guardrails for AI builders and canvases.
  • Context & Workflow Co-Design: Co-design interview workflows and validate context files, including bank/credit CSV exports, loan statements, and budget notes.
  • Grounding Golden Assets: Verify debt payoff schedules, budget rollups, net-worth formulas, and validation dropdowns across tools like personal budgets, bill calendars, and subscription auditors.
  • Quality Sign-Off: Review and approve AI-generated outputs to ensure full alignment with professional financial coaching and advisory standards.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in personal finance, financial coaching, or household money management.
  • Deep familiarity with budgeting methodologies (e.g., zero-based budgeting), debt payoff strategies, sinking funds, and net-worth tracking.
  • Strong ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, deterministic spreadsheet formulas and logic.
  • Excellent professional writing and analytical thinking skills.
  • Reliable personal computer with a stable, high-speed internet connection.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field.
  • Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, or quality assurance is a plus but not required.

Engagement Details

  • Type: Contractor
  • Duration: Up to 10 weeks
  • Hours: 40 hours/week with 8 hours of overlap with PST

Evaluation Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will receive a Job Interest Form.
  • Finalized candidates will complete a delivery interview before proceeding further.
