Physics Expert (Condensed Matter / Quantum Information) | $80–$160/hr | Worldwide Remote

MICRO1 is seeking a highly skilled Physics Expert with deep expertise in condensed matter physics and quantum information science. This is a contract opportunity for a researcher or specialist who can tackle advanced computational and theoretical physics challenges.

Role Overview

As a Physics Expert, you will work on cutting-edge quantum systems research, applying specialized numerical and analytical techniques to solve complex problems in quantum many-body physics.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform exact diagonalization of quantum systems with translation and reflection symmetries, preferably using QuSpin, for system sizes L ≥ 26
• Implement and apply subspace block-diagonalization techniques to reduce computational complexity
• Conduct overlap analysis with Z2 states to characterize quantum phases and transitions
• Contribute domain expertise to research-level problems in condensed matter and quantum information

Required Skills & Expertise

• Strong background in Physics, particularly condensed matter and/or quantum information
• Proficiency with exact diagonalization methods and symmetry-resolved computations
• Experience with QuSpin (strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with block-diagonalization in symmetry subspaces
• Understanding of Z2 symmetry and quantum state overlap calculations

Compensation

$80–$160/hr, depending on experience and expertise level.
