Physics Expert | $65–75/hr | Remote (US, UK, Canada, NZ, Australia)

Mercor is seeking Physics Masters and PhD holders for a premier project with one of the world's top AI labs. Contribute your subject matter expertise to a cutting-edge project involving frontier large language models by crafting high-quality, challenging problems with real-world applicability.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Physics from a top US university
• Experience coding in Python or MATLAB for projects or research
• Field-specific experience in Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Quantum Information/Computing, Computational Physics, Astrophysics, or Particle Physics
• High attention to detail
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent proficiency in English
• Currently based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia

Key Responsibilities:

• Work asynchronously with a team of highly qualified experts across your domain
• Craft, solve, and review challenging problems with real-world applicability
• 15-20 hours per week with potential for increased hours and extension
• Fully remote and asynchronous work

Role Details:

• Start Date: Late December (applications reviewed on a rolling basis)
• Interview Process: Short interview to assess domain expertise; paid for up to 1 hour of onboarding time
• Compensation: Hourly contractor classification with weekly payouts via Stripe Connect
