Mercor is seeking experienced Physics Researchers to join a cutting-edge AI research initiative. This contract role offers a competitive hourly rate and the flexibility to work remotely from the US, UK, or Canada. Collaborate with leading AI labs to advance AI capabilities in physics-based analysis, modeling, and simulation.

• Evaluate and refine AI-generated physics models, simulations, and solutions for accuracy and scientific rigor.
• Provide expert feedback on theoretical and experimental physics outputs, including quantum mechanics, condensed matter, astrophysics, and particle physics.
• Develop and improve evaluation rubrics for physical modeling, simulations, and data interpretation.
• Work asynchronously with AI research teams to enhance system reasoning and reliability.
• Audit technical reports and research summaries for clarity and precision.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional or research experience in physics or related fields at top-tier institutions.
• PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Astrophysics, or related discipline.
• Expertise in quantum physics, condensed matter, particle physics, computational physics, astrophysics, or plasma physics.
• Strong analytical, experimental design, and scientific writing skills.
• Must reside in the US, UK, or Canada.
