Plant, Animal & Insect Specialists (Remote)

Pay Range: $35 - $88 per hour

Mercor is actively hiring knowledgeable specialists in plants, animals, and insects for an exciting remote project. We're seeking experienced individuals to identify and classify image subjects by genus and species.

Areas of Expertise Needed:

- Plants and Trees

- Animals and Insects

- Dogs and Cats

- Birds

Role Responsibilities:

- Accurately review and classify images to genus and species levels based on your expertise.

- Rely primarily on personal knowledge rather than external references to ensure quality and consistency.

- Maintain high accuracy standards aligned with both medical and project-specific criteria.

Requirements:

- Residency in the US, Canada, UK, New Zealand, or Australia.

- A relevant degree or certification (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, DVM, etc.) or equivalent expertise in fields such as:

- Botany

- Arboriculture

- Zoology

- Wildlife Biology

- Veterinary Medicine (Large/Small Animal)

- Veterinary Technology

- Entomology

- Ornithology

- Avid Bird Watching (advanced hobbyists welcome)

Completion of a brief screening quiz identifying subjects within your specialization may be required after initial application review.

Commitment & Schedule:

- Remote, fully asynchronous role—flexible hours to fit your schedule.

- Ideal availability: 30-40 hours per week (minimum 20 hours/week considered for strong candidates).

- Project duration: Through June 2025, with opportunities for future projects based on performance.
