Product Analyst | Contractor | 40 hrs/week | Remote (US) | AI Benchmarking Project

Turing is seeking an experienced Product Analyst to help build and evaluate realistic analytics scenarios for an AI benchmark. This role goes beyond pulling data — you'll frame the right questions, design experiments, and produce insights that reflect how real-world product analytics actually works. If you thrive in ambiguous environments and love turning messy data into clear decisions, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Translate product questions into structured analytical approaches and clearly defined problem statements
  • Conduct analyses on key product metrics including activation, retention, and engagement
  • Design, support, and evaluate A/B tests — defining success metrics and interpreting results
  • Write high-quality analytical artifacts such as experiment summaries, deep-dive memos, and stakeholder updates
  • Review analytics outputs (docs, Slack threads, Jira tickets) for realism and quality
  • Navigate messy datasets, imperfect tracking, and inconsistent metric definitions to produce actionable insights
  • Communicate findings effectively across formats — from quick Slack updates to detailed leadership reports

Requirements

Core Experience

  • 3+ years of product analytics experience in tech or SaaS companies
  • Proven experience working directly with product managers and cross-functional teams
  • Track record of writing analysis docs, experiment summaries, or stakeholder-facing insights

Analytical & Technical Skills

  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker)
  • Experience running or supporting A/B tests and analyzing experiment results
  • Solid understanding of product metrics including activation, retention, and engagement
  • Comfortable working with ambiguous or evolving metric definitions

Ways of Working

  • Ability to scope vague requests and clarify the decisions they are meant to inform
  • Strong written communication skills across formats (Slack, email, detailed memos)
  • Experience managing analysis requests or mentoring junior analysts is a plus

Engagement Details

  • Commitment: 40 hours/week with 6-hour overlap with PST
  • Type: Contractor (no medical/paid leave)
  • Duration: 3 months (adjustable based on engagement)
  • Location: USA only

Evaluation Process

  • Data Analyst assessment (~20 minutes)
  • SQL interview (~45 minutes)

Why Turing?

  • Fully remote work environment
  • Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects with leading LLM companies
