AFTERQUERY is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to help shape the future of AI safety. In this role, you will design and review engineering scenarios used by frontier AI labs to evaluate model judgment and decision-making. This is a flexible, fully remote, asynchronous contract opportunity — ideal for experienced engineers looking to contribute meaningfully to cutting-edge AI development.

What You'll Do

• Develop realistic engineering design and review scenarios for AI model testing
• Apply your domain expertise to evaluate and document engineering reasoning
• Provide responsible charge-level review of technical scenarios across your discipline
• Collaborate asynchronously with a team focused on AI safety and model alignment

Requirements

• Active PE license in at least one US state
• 2+ years of professional practice in your engineering discipline
• Experience with design review and responsible charge of engineering work
• Strong written English skills for clearly documenting technical reasoning
• Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week

Compensation & Logistics

• Rate: $105–$190/hr depending on experience and discipline
• Schedule: Fully asynchronous, remote work
