Public Sector Practice Reviewer | $50–55/hr | Worldwide Remote
Mercor is seeking experienced public sector professionals to serve as Practice Reviewers — auditing AI-generated work product within your own field. This is not a content creation role; it's a critical evaluation role that leverages your real-world expertise to assess the accuracy, realism, and quality of AI outputs.
What You'll Do
Each review takes approximately one hour. You'll be presented with an AI agent's complete attempt at a realistic task from your profession — including the original task description, the agent's work, any files produced, and an AI grader's scoresheet. Your job is to answer four key questions:
- Task Realism: Is this a task that would genuinely arise in your field, described accurately?
- Domain Accuracy: Are the standards, figures, regulations, and constraints correct — or is something subtly off that only a practitioner would catch?
- Grading Validity: Does the AI grader's eleven yes/no evaluation hold up when you review the actual files?
- Score Defensibility: Is the reported score consistent with how a practitioner would rate the work's usability and quality?
Open Roles
Apply only to the role that genuinely reflects your background:
- Compliance Officers — 4+ years in regulatory, licensing, or program-compliance roles with documented findings
- Administrative Services Managers — 5+ years managing facilities, records, procurement, or general services in a public agency or institution
- Child, Family & School Social Workers — Licensed (where required), 4+ years with an active caseload
- Recreation Workers — 4+ years managing programs for parks departments, community centers, camps, or school districts, including staffing and safety planning
- First-Line Supervisors of Police and Detectives — 4+ years as a sworn supervisor at sergeant rank or above
Who Thrives in This Role
We're looking for practitioners who have written findings, case plans, incident reviews, or corrective actions that others were held accountable to. Strong candidates have hands-on administrative experience in public sector environments where procurement rules, mandated reporting, and public-records obligations apply.
Less of a fit: Policy analysts without direct program administration experience, or private-sector professionals whose work doesn't intersect with public sector regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
- Near-native business English proficiency — every judgment requires a written rationale
- Comfort reviewing spreadsheets and PDFs, including basic numerical reconciliation
- Genuine practitioner experience in one of the five listed roles
