Pulmonologist / Intensivist | AI Medical Consultant | Fully Remote | Contract

Turing is seeking a board-certified Pulmonologist and/or Intensivist to contribute expert medical knowledge to the development of cutting-edge AI language models. In this fully remote, contractor role, you will apply your clinical expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine to help train, evaluate, and refine AI systems — ensuring they reason accurately, safely, and empathetically in complex medical contexts.

What You'll Do

• Design and solve advanced clinical scenarios spanning pulmonary and critical care practice, including complex ventilator management, ARDS, COPD exacerbations, and sepsis-driven respiratory failure.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for diagnostic accuracy, clinical judgment, and evidence-based reasoning in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
• Identify knowledge gaps in AI understanding across pulmonology and intensive care, including interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and ICU protocols.
• Collaborate with AI researchers and medical peers to improve model quality, reliability, and clinical relevance.
• Provide structured, expert feedback that informs next-generation AI development for clinical and educational applications.

Candidate Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree; active clinical practice within the last 3+ years.
• Board certification or equivalent qualification in Pulmonary Medicine and/or Critical Care Medicine.
• Strong command of respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation, lung diseases, and ICU management.
• Ability to articulate complex medical reasoning in clear, accessible language.
• Excellent written and spoken English; familiarity with digital medical tools is a plus.
• Education from a top-tier institution (e.g., Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, Oxford, or equivalent).

Engagement Details

• Commitment: 20–40 hours/week (minimum 4 hours/day, with overlap in PST)
• Type: Contractor/Freelancer (no medical or paid leave)
• Duration: 1 month, with possibility of extension
• Location: Fully remote, collaborative environment
