Quality & Compliance Engineering Expert | $75–$100/hr | Remote (US)

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in quality engineering. In this role, you'll design challenging, long-horizon quality scenarios that mirror real-world compliance work — each paired with a deterministic rubric graded against verifiable ground truth. This is a part-time contractor opportunity ideal for experienced quality professionals in regulated industries.

What You'll Do

Build detailed, technically rigorous evaluation scenarios across key quality engineering domains, including:

• Non-conformance & CAPA: Create NCRs with required fields and CAPAs with documented correct root causes and containment actions.
• Audit Preparation: Develop responses against specific ISO/FDA clauses with known correct citations.
• Verification & Validation: Design inspection protocols and IQ/OQ/PQ scenarios with defined acceptance criteria and clear pass/fail outcomes.

These tasks require deep focus and extended work sessions. All scenarios must have checkable, objective answers — no open-ended essays or subjective judgment calls.

Who We're Looking For

• BS in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or compliance within a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, automotive, or pharma)
• Expertise in one or more of: ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA QSR / 21 CFR 820, IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 14971, or CAPA methodology
• Proficient in reading and producing quality artifacts: NCRs, CAPAs, audit responses, and V&V protocols
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to articulate step-by-step reasoning and encode it into deterministic rubrics
• ASQ CQE/CQA or equivalent certification is a plus
• Must be located in the United States

Compensation & Growth

Earn $75–$100/hr depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors are recognized and promoted based on task quality and throughput.
