About the Role:
Mercor is hiring Research Consultants with backgrounds in FBI interrogation, law enforcement, or criminal investigations for a part-time, remote opportunity. You will collaborate with a U.S. technology company exploring workforce behavior, operational integrity, and systems compliance within the home-care sector. Your expertise in investigative strategy, interrogation techniques, and behavioral pattern analysis will be critical to validating findings, designing discovery frameworks, and surfacing operational risk signals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape and review investigative research design to ensure alignment with behavioral realities and system dynamics.

  • Assess data for coherence, consistency, and red flags—especially regarding scheduling integrity, labor behavior, and compliance systems.

  • Collaborate with research and strategy teams to identify soft signals and credibility risks.

  • Design frameworks that model behavior, incentives, and organizational workflows within the home-care industry.

  • Apply interviewing logic, deception awareness, and systems intuition to support high-impact research and analysis.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with federal or local investigations, particularly in interrogation, deception detection, or fraud prevention.

  • Deep understanding of human behavior, motives, conflict, and how these map to organizational systems.

  • Proven ability to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and high-risk patterns in testimony, behavior, or operations.

  • Skilled in structuring open-ended investigative tasks and validating third-party findings.

  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Background in white-collar crime, public sector audits, or interrogation-based training programs.

  • Experience reviewing operational failures, misreporting, or systemic deception.

  • Knowledge of vulnerabilities in scheduling, workforce compliance, or claims workflows.

  • Familiarity with home-care, healthcare operations, or labor investigations.

Compensation & Legal Details:

  • Hourly pay based on experience and scope of engagement.

  • Weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
