Research Quality Specialist – Computational Biology | Contractor | 40 hrs/week | Remote (Select Countries)

Turing is seeking a highly analytical, computationally proficient Research Quality Specialist in Computational Biology to help design and evaluate graduate-level scientific problems for cutting-edge AI training pipelines. This is an 8-week contractor engagement with a 40-hour weekly commitment and 4 hours of PST overlap required.

Role Overview

In this role, you will craft challenging, research-grade problems in computational biology and devise rigorous computational solutions using Python. Your work will directly contribute to the quality and integrity of AI training data used by leading LLM companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Problem Design & Solutioning: Develop original, research-grade or graduate-level scientific problems involving scientific coding in Python. Define problem categories, secondary tags, and appropriate difficulty levels with precision.
  • Rigorous Solutioning: Solve formulated problems using sound scientific principles, ensuring absolute accuracy, reliability, and logical coherence throughout the solution path.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in two-tier review processes, meticulously evaluating the accuracy of both problems and solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with reviewers and team leads, proactively incorporating feedback to refine content and enhance overall quality.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or PhD Candidate in Computational Biology
  • At least 1 peer-reviewed publication
  • Advanced proficiency in Python for scientific computing (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration

Engagement Details

  • Commitment: 40 hrs/week with 4 hours of PST overlap
  • Type: Contractor/Freelancer (no medical or paid leave benefits)
  • Duration: 8 weeks (expected start: next week)
