Research Quality Specialist – Computational Math | Contractor | 40 hrs/week | Remote (Select Countries)

Turing is seeking a highly analytical, PhD-level expert in Computational Mathematics to join our AI research quality team. In this role, you will design graduate-level research problems and develop rigorous computational solutions to help advance frontier AI model capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Problem Design & Solutioning: Develop original, research-grade or graduate-level scientific problems involving computational math and Python-based scientific coding.
• Define problem categories, secondary tags, and assign appropriate difficulty levels with precision.
• Solve formulated problems using sound mathematical principles, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and logical coherence throughout the solution path.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in two-tier peer reviews, evaluating both the accuracy of problems and their solutions.
• Collaborate with reviewers and team leads, proactively incorporating feedback to refine content and improve overall quality.

Required Qualifications

• PhD or current PhD Candidate in Computational Mathematics (specialization in Numerical Linear Algebra or Computational Mechanics preferred)
• At least 1 peer-reviewed publication
• Advanced proficiency in Python for scientific computing
• Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Engagement Details

• Commitment: 40 hours/week with 4 hours of PST overlap required
• Type: Freelance/Contractor (no medical or paid leave benefits)
• Duration: 8-week contract with potential for extension based on performance
• Eligible Locations: Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey, Vietnam
