Retail Investment Research Specialist | $105–$200/hr | Worldwide Remote

An AI Lab building next-generation financial intelligence tools is seeking Retail Investment Research Specialists to help train and evaluate AI systems designed for individual investors. This is a flexible, part-time contractor engagement (typically 10–20 hours per week) ideal for self-directed market participants who actively research equities and form their own investment views.

Key Responsibilities

• Research stocks, sectors, and market trends using publicly available tools such as screeners, SEC filings, TradingView, and financial news sources
• Develop and articulate investment theses, including entry/exit reasoning, catalysts, and associated risks
• Analyze price movements and market events, distinguishing meaningful signals from noise
• Evaluate AI-generated insights, summaries, and recommendations for clarity, accuracy, and practical usefulness
• Provide structured feedback on whether AI outputs improve investor decision confidence or introduce confusion
• Simulate real-world investor workflows, including idea discovery, thesis validation, and portfolio monitoring
• Identify gaps in reasoning, missing context, or misleading interpretations within AI-generated content

Requirements

• Active participation in public markets (equities, ETFs, or similar instruments)
• Demonstrated habit of independently researching and tracking investments
• Ability to clearly explain why a stock is moving and whether that movement is significant
• Strong intuition for market sentiment, narratives, and behavioral patterns
• Comfort using platforms such as Reddit, X (Twitter), Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, or TradingView
• Clear written communication skills with the ability to articulate investment reasoning effectively

Nice to Have

• Experience with advanced tools such as Bloomberg or Capital IQ
• Familiarity with technical analysis, financial statement analysis, or macroeconomic indicators
• Prior experience documenting trades, investment theses, or portfolio outcomes
