MICRO1 is seeking a skilled Robotics & Mechatronics Expert to join a cutting-edge AI and machine learning initiative. This is a fully remote contractor role ideal for a generalist engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and building end-to-end solutions in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and debug complex robotics and mechatronics systems
• Leverage AI coding agents (including Codex, Claude Code, and related tools) to accelerate development workflows
• Architect scalable system designs and contribute to end-to-end feature development
• Navigate and improve large, complex codebases with precision and clarity
• Produce thorough technical documentation to support team knowledge and project continuity
• Collaborate effectively with distributed, remote teams through clear written and verbal communication

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong background in robotics and mechatronics
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents (Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, Claude Cowork)
• Proficiency in system design and architectural problem-solving
• Demonstrated ability to debug and refactor complex codebases
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
• Proven track record of remote collaboration and independent delivery

Compensation

$80–$100/hr depending on experience and expertise.
